Consultation

You discuss with your homeopath your symptoms, this usually takes about 90 minutes for the first consultation. You may be asked to fill in a health questionnaire before you start.

Your symptoms may include physical symptoms such as any pain or discomfort, swelling or tingling, discharges, reactions to heat or cold, food cravings or aversions, sleep patterns etc.

We also cover emotional and mental symptoms, for example changes in mood, strong emotions like anger or sadness, absent-mindedness, forgetfulness etc. It is also helpful to learn what your 'normal' personality is like, as certain remedies resonate more strongly with particular personality types.

We need to discuss your past health and medical history as well as the history of your family members. It would be helpful if you could bring in any medication that you are taking so that I can make a note of it.

Follow-up appointments will usually last 30 to 45 minutes. This gives us an opportunity to discuss, and then assess, your response to the initial prescription, and prescribe again if necessary. At your second appointment I may be able to give you some idea of how long it will be necessary to continue seeing me regularly - however, it is impossible for me to know exactly how long it will take for you to get better.

Through my practical approach I then select whatever methods I think best fit the job of helping you. At times, I may use a sophisticated combination of homeopathic and naturopathic methods. For example, during early stages of treatment many people need the rapid relief of symptoms that can be achieved by supporting over-worked organs, strengthening elimination pathways, improving nutritional status, and clearing out toxic build-up, while the underlying disease patterns are being treated. This may require the use of safe, low-dose herbal tinctures or nutritional supplements in addition to homeopathic remedies. I also use flower essences ( Australian Bush Flowers) where emotional support is needed while physical layers are being cleared.

This means that, at times, you may receive only one or a very few pills, but at other times you may be asked to follow a more complex schedule of treatment.

I do not charge for phone calls in between appointments at present. However, if you are an existing client and I have not seen you for more than three months you will probably need to make an appointment in order for me to prescribe again.

All fees include homeopathic remedies. However, I usually give nutritional advice and may recommend supplements or herbal tinctures which will have to be purchased separately.
